SBY Beri Nama Komodo untuk Kendaraan Taktis Produk Pindad

Jakarta: Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono dan Ibu Negara Hj Ani Bambang Yudhoyono meninjau pameran Indo Defence 2012 di JIExpo, Kemayoran, Sabtu(10/11) pukul 11.30 WIB. Pameran yang bertemakan 'Building Roadmap for Defence Industry, Present and Futures' ini digelar bersamaan dengan Indo Aerospace Expo & Forum, serta Indo Marine Expo dan Forum
Pada kesempatan ini Presiden SBY memberikan nama untuk sebuah kendaraan taktis buatan PT Pindad . "Kendaraan taktis karya putra-putri Indonesia yang, insya Allah, akan menjadi kendaraan taktis yang handal, bisa bergerak di segala cuaca bertempur di medan-medan Indonesia. Saya beri nama Komodo," ujar SBY.

"Komodo adalah binatang yang perkesa, yang di seluruh dunia adanya di negeri kita Indonesia. Semoga kendaraan taktis ini benar-benar handal, bisa bertempur dan tentu membawa kemenangan dan kejayaan bagi Indonesia," Presiden SBY menambahkan.
Beberapa waktu lalu, Presiden meminta PT Pindad membuat kendaraan dengan kemampuan tinggi seperti Sherpa. Komodo menggunakan mesin diesel turbo intercooler dengan power 215 @ 2500 rpm dan bobot 25 hp/ton. Kendaraan taktis ini menggunakan transmisi manual 6 maju 1 mundur dan memiliki deferensi lock sehingga memiliki kemampuan offroad yang baik. Badan kendaraan taktis ini mengunakan body monocoque dan memiliki ketahanan terhadap tembakan senjata 7,62 mm.

Pameran Indo Defense 2012 ini diikuti 50 negara, separuhnya partisipan merupakan pavilion country atau negara yang membuka stan khusus alutsista. Sebanyak 600 perusahaan dalam dan luar negeri memamerkan teknologi terkini dari sistem pertahanan dan keamanan, antara lain PT Dirgantara Indonesia, PT PAL, PT Pindad, PT LEN, Lockheed Martin, dan industri pertahanan negara berkembang lainnya.
Dalam acara pameran ini juga diselenggarakan seminar pertahanan yang menampilkan pembicara dari kalangan industri pertahanan, pengamat militer, dalam dan luar negeri. Selepas makan siang, Presiden SBY dan Ibu Ani akan meninjau seluruh stan Indo Defense 2012. Turut mendampingi Presiden dalam kesempatan ini diantaranya Menhan Purnomo Yusgiantoro, Menperin MS Hidayat, dan Panglima TNI Laksamana Agus Suhartono.
 

Indonesia Ordered 36 Astros II Rocket Systems

TSAMTO - Brazil's "Avibras Industria Aerospacial" signed a contract to supply Indonesia with two batteries MRLS "Astros-2” (ASTROS - Artillery Saturation Rocket System).
According to "Jane's Defence Weekly" in the exhibition held in Jakarta "IndoDefence 2012" representative "Avibras", an agreement was signed with the Ministry of Defense of Indonesia "recently" and provides for the production and supply of two batteries, "Astros" as well as the transfer of technology and their service Indonesian repair industry. Earlier, Indonesian online media reported that one of the MLRS "Astros-2" version Mk.6 was demonstrated during the past 5 October in Jakarta military parade.
Under the agreement Indonesia will receive 36 launchers and a similar number of transport-charging machines, fire control, mobile repair shops, mobile weather stations, control vehicle battery commander. "Avibras" will also provide training facilities, simulators and a package of spare parts.

Despite the fact that the cost of the agreement were not disclosed, it can be estimated at 350 million dollars. In June this year, Brazilian Army signed a contract for the purchase of three batteries MLRS "Astros 2020" worth 525 million dollars. In addition, the MLRS "Astros" were delivered in 2002 and 2007 to Malaysia.
According to the signed November 8 Indonesia and "Avibras" memorandum of understanding, a Brazilian manufacturer of the Indonesian state-owned companies will give “PT Pindad” and “PT Dirgantara" as well as the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space Technology and the necessary "know-how".
According to the statement of the Executive Director of "Avibras" Sami Youssef Hassuani (Sami Youssef Hassuani), a technology transfer agreement will strengthen cooperation in Indonesia and Brazil in the field of defense.
Earlier Indonesia signed a contract to buy Brazil 16 light combat / training aircraft EMB-314 (A-29) "Super Tucano". The first four aircraft were delivered in August 2012.
