Popovkin said the first fighters will be purchased in 2013, while in 2015 a batch of fighters will be tested by the Air Force.

"We will start the serial purchase of this fighter in 2016 and a batch of 60 fighters will be purchased within a state arms procurement program," the deputy minister said.

Third Su-30 fighter for Indonesia passes flight tests

MOSCOW, January 26 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Sukhoi holding said on Monday that a third Su-30MK2 fighter, delivered to Indonesia last week, had passed flight tests at an airfield on the island of Sulawesi.

Under a $300 million contract, signed in 2007, Russia has supplied three Su-30MK2 planes and will deliver three Su-27SKM fighters to Jakarta in addition to the two Su-27SK and two Su-30MK planes that are already in service with the Indonesian air force.

"During a 1-hour flight, the Russian military pilots checked the performance of all on-board systems. Two Su-30MK2 fighters, delivered in December, were tested on January 6," the company said.

Russia is scheduled to deliver three Su-27SKM planes to Indonesia in 2009-2010.

The aircraft will become part of the 11th Squadron and will be based at the Sultan Hasanuddin airbase on Sulawesi.

Russia will most likely continue holding a second place on the global market of new multirole fighter jets until at least 2013, a Russian arms trade expert said.

"We are expecting a significant growth of this [fighter jet] market segment both in terms of quantity [68%] and revenues [91%] until 2013 compared to the previous four years [2006-2009]," Igor Korotchenko, head of a Moscow-based think tank on the international arms trade, told reporters on Wednesday.

"According to our estimates, Russia will keep a solid second place during the upcoming four-year period," the expert said.

According to the Russian think tank, at least 1,589 multirole fighters worth over $82.5 billion will be sold on the global market in 2006-2013.

A total of 476 new fighters worth $27.7 billion were sold in 2006-2009. This figure will almost double in the next four years with the demand rising from 119 to 200 planes annually.

The United States tops the list with 472 new fighters worth over $19 bln, which were sold in the past four years and have been ordered for the next four.

Russia currently maintains a second place with 377 new fighters worth over $16.3 bln, trailed by China, the U.K., Sweden and France.

According to Russia's state arms exporter Rosoboronexport, the country could sign its first contract for the export of Su-35 Flanker-E fighter jets by the end of this year.

The Su-35 Flanker-E, a modification of the Su-27, is a heavy class, long-range, multirole fighter, whose technical characteristics can be compared with those of fifth-generation jets.

Russia to showcase civil, military aircraft in Jakarta

MOSCOW, November 17 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Sukhoi holding will showcase fighter aircraft as well as a new civilian airliner at an international defense exhibition in Indonesia, the company said on Monday.

Sukhoi said it would demonstrate the Su-35 Flanker and Su-30MK2 as well as the Superjet 100 medium-haul airliner at the Indo Defence-2008 exhibition due to open in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, on November 19-22.

The Superjet 100 project is a family of medium-haul passenger aircraft developed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau in cooperation with major U.S. and European aviation corporations.

Sukhoi has said there are at least 100 firm orders for the aircraft, which should complete certification flights in the second half of 2009.

Russia's arms export monopoly said on Wednesday it had signed deals to sell six Su-30 Flanker-C jet fighters and 18 BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles to Indonesia, adding that Indonesia could also buy other Russian warplanes, as well as Mi-17 and Mi-35 helicopters.

A Rosoboronexport executive said that Indonesia had asked Russia's assistance in modernizing its Soviet-era weapons and equipment.

Russia's Sukhoi to produce Su-35 fighter up to 2020

MOSCOW, July 14 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's leading aircraft maker Sukhoi plans to produce its new state-of-the-art Su-35 Flanker-E multirole fighter plane over a period of 10 years up to 2020, the company's general director said. (VIDEO)

Deliveries of the new air superiority/strike fighter, billed as a "4++ generation using fifth-generation technology" aircraft, to foreign clients will start in 2011.

"I think we will continue producing Su-35s at least until 2020," Mikhail Pogosyan said in an interview with Expert, a Russian business publication. "According to our estimates, demand for this fighter is over 200 aircraft."

Su-35 successfully completed its first demonstration flight last Monday and may enter service with the Russian Air Force in two or three years. It is also slated for exports to Russia's traditional customers in Southeast Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.

The Su-35, powered by two 117S engines with thrust vectoring, combines high maneuverability and the capability to effectively engage several air targets simultaneously using both guided and unguided missiles and weapon systems.

The aircraft features the new Irbis-E radar with a phased antenna array, which allows the pilot to detect and track up to 30 air targets, while simultaneously engaging up to eight targets.

It is equipped with a 30-mm cannon with 150 rounds and can carry up to eight tons of combat payload on 12 eternal mounts.

Pogosyan said the company would deliver 24-30 aircraft to its clients annually.

"We can expect orders for at least 25-30 aircraft annually," he said, adding that Sukhoi could successfully compete for at least 7% of the world's market of combat aircraft.

"If we want to become a leader on the global aircraft-manufacturing market, we must sharply increase production of civilian aircraft," Pogosyan said, referring to the Superjet 100 family of medium-range passenger aircraft, developed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau in cooperation with major American and European aviation corporations.

Sukhoi earlier said it plans to equalize the share of civilian and military aircraft in its production portfolio by 2015.

Karya Peneliti ITS Baru Sebagian Kecil Yang Bisa Diproduksi Massal

Kapal X3KTrimaranSURABAYA – Pekerjaan besar menunggu Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya.
